I selected a pad (in the middle of about 8 pads) and selected delete - the pad on the far left was deleted instead and had extremely valuable information on it.

Is it possible to 'un-delete' or recover the information in any way?

Many thanks,
Trevor..

Hi Trevor,

unfortunately you cannot recover a deleted pad, because a deleted pad is just like a deleted file.

However, if you had really important information in the deleted pad, you can use any file recovery software (there are plenty of free ones out there) and recover your pad easily.

TinyPad creates a file for each pad and names it with the form: PADNAME.tp

File recovery software usually show you the files that can be recovered. All you'd have to do is bring that file (PADNAME.tp) back. Once that is done, please let us know so we can assist you in bringing it back inside TinyPad.

Hope this helps.

We actually tried the scenario using FreeUndelete. You can get it for free from here: http://www.officerecovery.com/freeundelete/

Please note that depending on how long and how much files you've deleted since, there are still high chances of not finding the deleted file.

Thanks for the excellent and quick response...

I downloaded some similar software and it did find them so I now have the data - wonderful Shocked)

It was strange that I have copied the files back to the tinypad directory yet tinypad won't recognise them. In the end I opened the recovered files with Wordpad and copied/ pasted them into a new pad...

All seems well..

Copying the file back to the directory won't affect TinyPad, because TinyPad doesn't simply read all the files from its directory. It manages them from its internal data store to keep needed information about each pad.
Copy-pasting into/from Word is the fastest way, you did well. Just for the record, there are other manual ways to do that.

If there's anything else you need, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
