I had to turn off Sync. It sync-ed well enough but whenever it was enabled it bogged down other internet activities.
(Running Mozilla Firefox on Vista.)

Today sync does not seem to be holding back the system.

It most certainly was because of other reasons.
TinyPad is super-lite on resources, and even liter on the connection. All synced pads (and their updates) are smartly encrypted and compressed before being sent, and are decompressed on the SharedNote server. That allows TinyPad to use the minimal connection possible. You wouldn't feel the difference even if you were running on the old 56-bit modems!  Cheesy
